Americas’ Regional Corporate Office is centrally located at the beautiful
Ravinia Complex just outside Atlanta’s Perimeter (I-285), offering a convenient

Category Management team is the commercial architect of how we buy from the
different supply markets. The team has global responsibility for suppliers
and supply markets with several billion dollars of global spend annually.
Our category team have an intimate knowledge of the suppliers and coupled with
an understanding of business requirements they lead the development of sourcing
strategies which deliver benefits to our owners and corporate functions through
leveraging scale, managing risk and igniting innovation.
have roles in our Food & Beverage and Hotel Operations teams; these teams
are responsible for leading and implementing the category strategies
determining how we approach the suppliers and supply markets. Our category
managers are skilled in the category management and sourcing process, have experience of delivering end to end
category strategies and may have some experience in Food, Beverages,
Engineering, Energy, Linens, Consumables and Operating items for our
hotels. Direct category experience is not essential as we are looking for
strategic thinkers who can work on a global scale and develop the multi-year
category strategy to deliver cost savings, security of supply, quality and
operational efficiency to our owners.
Develop and implement category plans for L3 categories
Build a deep understanding of supply markets and the implications for IHG
Develop and execute a pipeline of projects to drive TCO, innovation, continuous improvement and cost benefits to IHG and Owners
Successful execution of sourcing, demand management and continuous improvement projects to deliver business objectives
Provide commercial challenge to business stakeholders typically up to VP level
Develop and deliver successful supplier relationship management plans
Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Economics,
Finance, Statistics, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination
of education and work-related experience.
Proficient in the Category Management methodology and procurement processes
Track record of developing and implementing Category Plans
Category management experience in a global organization
Demonstrated ability to analyse and provide insight on supply markets
Strong procurement technical skills, legal knowledge and RFI/P leadership
Experience of managing complex supplier relationships
Capable of leading and being part of matrixed team in a project environment
Good negotiation and influencing skills
Effective project management skills
Up to 20% travel required
